1999 Alzinger Riesling Steinertal Smaragd
Opening Bid: $125WINNING BID: $400
Bidding Increment: $25Notes: The Steinertal vineyard shapes what is perhaps the most mineral, the most incisive Riesling in the Alzinger collection; 1999 is one of the very best vintages in the 1990s. Sourced directly from the Alzinger cellar, the bottle will be signed by Leo Jr. and dedicated to the auction lot winner.
Condition: All bottles will come directly from the growers' cellars to be shipped in the early spring of 2021; all auction "sales" are final and bottle conditions are "as delivered."

Lot 2
1988 J.B. Becker Spätburgunder Walkenberg Spätlese Trocken Magnum
Opening Bid: $200WINNING BID: $650
Bidding Increment: $50Notes: This is a true rarity: only 25 magnums were ever bottled. This is one of the precious few that has remained in Hans-Josef's "HaJo's" cavernous cellar. HaJo is quite famous in Germany for his textural, powerful, layered and pushing Pinot Noirs. He wrote me very simply and clearly that this is the greatest Pinot Noir he has ever made.
Condition: All bottles will come directly from the growers' cellars to be shipped in the early spring of 2021; all auction "sales" are final and bottle conditions are "as delivered."
Donated by: Hans-Josef, Eva and Maria Becker Email bid to: info@rieslingfeier.com -
Lot 3
2010 Beurer Riesling Kieselsandstein Magnum
Opening Bid: $100WINNING BID: $325
Bidding Increment: $25Notes: For Beurer, 2010 is a vintage of beautiful, ruthless acidity and cut - this is a purist's purist wine. It is Riesling as the looking glass into soil, in magnum, sourced directly from the Beurer cellar and signed for the winner of this lot. If you know, you know.
Condition: All bottles will come directly from the growers' cellars to be shipped in the early spring of 2021; all auction "sales" are final and bottle conditions are "as delivered."
Donated by: Marion and Jochen Beurer Email bid to: info@rieslingfeier.com -

2000 Dönnhoff Riesling Oberhäuser Brücke Auslese Auction Magnum
Opening Bid: $300WINNING BID: $600
Bidding Increment: $50Notes: Direct from the famous cellar on the Nahe, with two decades of perfect cellar rest, a rare auction magnum from the powerful 2000 vintage. This will be signed and dedicated to the winner of this auction lot.

Lot 5
2003 Emrich-Schönleber Halenberg BA Magnum
Opening Bid: $300WINNING BID: $650
Bidding Increment: $50Notes: The Prädikat wines of Emrich-Schönleber are as rare as they are old-school. For this auction, Frank was kind enough to offer a 2003 Beerenauslese magnum. Now, if the 2003 vintage is both celebrated as the 2nd coming for 1959 and dismissed as a vintage too low in acidity, one must remember that botrytis concentrates not only sugar, but acidity. This is a live wire, and will be for another half-century or more.
Condition: All bottles will come directly from the growers' cellars to be shipped in the early spring of 2021; all auction "sales" are final and bottle conditions are "as delivered."
Donated by: Frank Schönleber Email bid to: info@rieslingfeier.com -
Lot 6
2017 Julian Haart Riesling Ohligsberg Kabinett Magnum
Opening Bid: $200WINNING BID: $1,600
Bidding Increment: $50Notes: Julian and Nadine Haart bottled only 12 magnums from this, their daughter's birth year. One will be given to the lucky winner of this lot. It is worth noting that 2017 is, to quote Julian, "the best" - it is his favorite vintage. This is an epic and rare wine. The magnum will be signed and dedicated to the winner of this lot.
Condition: All bottles will come directly from the growers' cellars to be shipped in the early spring of 2021; all auction "sales" are final and bottle conditions are "as delivered."
Donated by: Julian and Nadine Haart Email bid to: info@rieslingfeier.com -
Lot 7
1988 Hofgut Falkenstein Riesling Krettnacher Altenberg Spätlese Trocken
Opening Bid: $100WINNING BID: $700
Bidding Increment: $25Notes: From the cellar in the Saar, son Johannes and father Erich Weber of Hofgut Falkenstein have generously donated two top bottlings from this superb, classic Saar vintage - 1988. This is not only a vintage of fierce and stylish acidities, a purist's vintage if ever there was one, this is also Johannes birth-vintage so there is no doubt father Erich was extra vigilant in the vineyard and cellar this year. Singular bottles you will simply not find anywhere in the market.
Condition: All bottles will come directly from the growers' cellars to be shipped in the early spring of 2021; all auction "sales" are final and bottle conditions are "as delivered."
Donated by: Erich and Johannes Weber Email bid to: info@rieslingfeier.com -

Lot 9
1990 Immich-Batterieberg Batterieberg Spätlese Double Magnum
Opening Bid: $300WINNING BID: $800
Bidding Increment: $50Notes: Directly from the very deep and very cold cellars of Immich-Batterieberg, Gernot Kollmann has generously donated a rare double-magnum from the powerful 1990 vintage from the estate's famous monopole "Batterieberg." Directly next to the Ellergrub vineyard, on the famous Starkenberger Hang, this vineyard is full of old, ungrafted vines and is one of the overlooked gems of the Mosel.
Condition: All bottles will come directly from the growers' cellars to be shipped in the early spring of 2021; all auction "sales" are final and bottle conditions are "as delivered."
Donated by: Gernot Kollmann Email bid to: info@rieslingfeier.com -
Lot 10
2017 Keller Riesling Pettenthal GG Auction
Opening Bid: $500WINNING BID: $3,200
Bidding Increment: $50Notes: This is quite simply one of the greatest young dry Rieslings I have ever had, period. Generously donated by Julia and Klaus Peter Keller, the bottle will come directly from their home cellar and will be signed and dedicated to the winner of this lot. Currently, there is not a single bottle of this wine available in the U.S.
Condition: All bottles will come directly from the growers' cellars to be shipped in the early spring of 2021; all auction "sales" are final and bottle conditions are "as delivered."
Donated by: Julia and Klaus Peter Keller Email bid to: info@rieslingfeier.com -
Lot 11
2015 Keller Pinot Noir Morstein GG Felix Auction
Opening Bid: $500WINNING BID: $1,200
Bidding Increment: $50Notes: The Morstein is Keller's top Pinot Noir, in some ways the red-wine equivalent of the G-Max, named after their son Felix. This is the auction bottling, only sold through the fall auctions and from perhaps the greatest vintage of this decade.
Condition: All bottles will come directly from the growers' cellars to be shipped in the early spring of 2021; all auction "sales" are final and bottle conditions are "as delivered."
Donated by: Julia and Klaus Peter Keller Email bid to: info@rieslingfeier.com -
Lot 12
2008 Koehler-Ruprecht Riesling Auslese Trocken R Magnum
Opening Bid: $400WINNING BID: $650
Bidding Increment: $50Notes: This is another one of those wines, another one of those vintages - if you know, you know. The "R" designation is for one of the top dry wines the estate makes and they bottle a very few number of magnums, only for use at the estate. In other words, the estate has never before offered out a magnum of this rare bottling.
Condition: All bottles will come directly from the growers' cellars to be shipped in the early spring of 2021; all auction "sales" are final and bottle conditions are "as delivered."
Donated by: Alan Sauvage, Dominik Sona and Franzi Schmitt Email bid to: info@rieslingfeier.com -
Lucky Lot 13
2011 Lauer Riesling Grand Cru Stirn Double Magnum
Opening Bid: $200WINNING BID: $600
Bidding Increment: $50Notes: Signed, "to California with love," this rare double magnum, with nearly a decade of perfect cellar rest, comes straight from Florian Lauer's cellar. The Stirn is one of Lauer's top sites: windy, fierce, rocky. As tough as the environment is, the wine is simply angelic - it is one of Lauer's most elegant, most finessed wines. While normally having a sort of off-dry, feinherb feel, the wine has a rigorous and sculpted acidity, giving it superb tension and balance. To my knowledge this wine in this format has never been sold.
Condition: All bottles will come directly from the growers' cellars to be shipped in the early spring of 2021; all auction "sales" are final and bottle conditions are "as delivered."
Donated by: Florian Lauer Email bid to: info@rieslingfeier.com -
Lot 14
2015 Egon Müller Scharzhofberger Auslese Goldkapsel #11 Magnum
Opening Bid: $1,000WINNING BID: $4,000
Bidding Increment: $100Notes: Coming directly from Egon Müller's personal cellar, this 2015 Auslese Goldkapsel (AP #11) has never been commercially released. Only a very few magnums were bottled; the one being offered is number one. There is little to say about this estate or this vintage; both are simply among the greatest ever. This magnum can be signed by Egon Müller and dedicated to the winner of this lot.
Condition: All bottles will come directly from the growers' cellars to be shipped in the early spring of 2021; all auction "sales" are final and bottle conditions are "as delivered."
Donated by: Egon Müller IV Email bid to: info@rieslingfeier.com -

Nikolaihof Vinothek Vertical: 1990, 1993, 2000 collector's box set
Opening Bid: $600WINNING BID: $1,500
Bidding Increment: $50Notes: Direct from the cellar and signed by winemaker Nikolaus Saahs, this collection of Vinothek, boxed together in an original wooden case, is a true rarity. The winner will receive TWO of each bottles: 1990 and 2000 Vinotheks are Riesling; the 1993 is a Grüner Veltliner.
Condition: All bottles will come directly from the growers' cellars to be shipped in the early spring of 2021; all auction "sales" are final and bottle conditions are "as delivered."

Opening Bid: $300WINNING BID: $850
Bidding Increment: $50Notes: A legendary bottle from a legendary vintage from a legendary estate. This is one of those bottles that was, rightfully, famous 5, 10 and 20+ years ago. Coming up on its 40th birthday, its stature only grows. This bottle comes with one other quality: perfect provenance. This wine will be pulled from the cellars of J.J. Prüm and delivered straight to your cellar. All you have to do is win the lot!

Lot 17
2007 Willi Schaefer Domprobst Riesling Auslese #15 Auction Magnum
Opening Bid: $400WINNING BID: $1,500
Bidding Increment: $50Notes: An Auction Magnum, direct from the cellars in Graach, this bottle will be signed and dedicated to the winner of this lot. It's worth noting that the wines of Willi Schaefer are finally being noticed not only by the wine geeks, who have long-since been obsessed with this amazing estate, but by the collectors. Prices are beginning to explode and I expect it to accelerate from here. This magnum comes with impeccable provenance from one of the greatest producers in Germany.
Condition: All bottles will come directly from the growers' cellars to be shipped in the early spring of 2021; all auction "sales" are final and bottle conditions are "as delivered."

Lot 20
2011 Schäfer-Fröhlich Felseneck GG Magnum
Opening Bid: $200WINNING BID: $600
Bidding Increment: $50Notes: It's curious how you think of a wine as basically available... and then, quietly, you notice how it really isn't available - without you noticing it's become something of a rarity. Such is it with Tim Fröhlich's Felseneck GG bottling, and rightfully so. This is one of the great dry wines of Germany, period. As with Willi Schaefer, I expect the prices of the wines from this estate, especially the Felseneck, to skyrocket. Only a few magnums of this wine came to the U.S. - this one comes directly from Tim's cellar.
Condition: All bottles will come directly from the growers' cellars to be shipped in the early spring of 2021; all auction "sales" are final and bottle conditions are "as delivered."
Donated by: Tim Fröhlich Email bid to: info@rieslingfeier.com -
Lot 21
1938 Spreitzer Riesling Ostricher Lenchen “Naturwein“
Opening Bid: $350WINNING BID: $800
Bidding Increment: $50Notes: Finding pre-war wines in Germany is a difficult task. For those that were able to taste this bottle when Andreas Spreitzer brought it to Rieslingfeier 2019, it is a monumental wine and a piece of history! This is a serious once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Condition: All bottles will come directly from the growers' cellars to be shipped in the early spring of 2021; all auction "sales" are final and bottle conditions are "as delivered."
Donated by: Andreas Spreitzer Email bid to: info@rieslingfeier.com -
Lot 22
2008 Stein Riesling Palmberg Spätlese Trocken
Opening Bid: $50WINNING BID: $400
Bidding Increment: $25Notes: Stein's Palmberg Rieslings have, in recent years, finally begun to receive the attention they deserve: this is a profound vineyard with a cultural treasure trove of old, ungrafted vines, many of them 80, 90 and over 100 years old. The 2008 vintage is a vintage for purists and this is Stein's top dry bottling - there is no "Auslese Trocken" made at this estate. Why? Stein answers simply: "If I want racy wines, why would I make an Auslese Trocken? It is too big." This is a wine that just doesn't exist, except for Stein's cellar... and, technically, your cellar if you win this lot.
Condition: All bottles will come directly from the growers' cellars to be shipped in the early spring of 2021; all auction "sales" are final and bottle conditions are "as delivered."
Donated by: Ulrich and Piet Stein and Philip Lardot Email bid to: info@rieslingfeier.com -
Lot 23
2001 Stein Riesling Bremmer Calmont Auslese Magnum
Opening Bid: $100WINNING BID: $450
Bidding Increment: $25Notes: Stein bought grapes from the Bremmer Calmont, one of Europe's steepest sites, for a number of years, for the sole purpose of 1) supporting the growers working this site by paying them a fair price and 2) to piss off and embarrass a local coop which was pushing prices so low for this site that it made it all but unsustainable for the farmers to farm. This is a serious, serious rarity - Stein rarely makes off-dry Prädikat wines and very rarely an Auslese. But, you know, 2001 was not a bad vintage for Prädikat wines in the Mosel. In magnum this should be fresher than fresh.
Condition: All bottles will come directly from the growers' cellars to be shipped in the early spring of 2021; all auction "sales" are final and bottle conditions are "as delivered."
Donated by: Ulrich and Piet Stein and Philip Lardot Email bid to: info@rieslingfeier.com -
Lot 24
2003 Vollenweider Goldgrube TBA Magnum
Opening Bid: $300WINNING BID: $650
Bidding Increment: $50Notes: A magnum of TBA sounds crazy, right? Well, only four of these were bottled and one was opened at Rieslingfeier 2019 - it was PSYCHOTIC. Energetic, spirited, layered yet direkt. This is drinkable, crushable, TBA. 2003 is both celebrated as the second coming of 1959 and sometimes written off as a vintage lacking in acidity. The great truth is that not all these wines are equal: look toward the higher-Prädikat botrytized wines, for botrytis concentrates more than sugar, it also concentrates acidity. If the Spätlesen and Auslesen I've had from 1959 have sometimes been soft, the higher Prädikat wines remain electric... and immortal. Out of magnum this wine will make old bones.
Condition: All bottles will come directly from the growers' cellars to be shipped in the early spring of 2021; all auction "sales" are final and bottle conditions are "as delivered."
Donated by: Daniel Vollenweider Email bid to: info@rieslingfeier.com -
Lot 25
2018 Von Winning Riesling "Ozyetra" Magnum
Opening Bid: $300WINNING BID: $600
Bidding Increment: $50Notes: Generously donated by the good people at Von Winning, this is another serious rarity: only 10 Magnums were bottled of this, the first vintage of this wine. Named for the tiny, fractured pieces of basalt in this parcel of the famous Pechstein, this is a world class dry wine that has garnered huge critical praise. We are not one to mention scores, but if you want check out what the Wine Advocate says about this wine.
Condition: All bottles will come directly from the growers' cellars to be shipped in the early spring of 2021; all auction "sales" are final and bottle conditions are "as delivered."

the ultimate Rieslingfeier experience
Opening Bid: $400WINNING BID: $10,000
Bidding Increment: $100Notes: No, it will not happen this year, but there WILL be another Rieslingfeier, and when it happens, we want you to be there, in style. We auctioned off one of these experiences in the spring, for the corona virus charity auction, and were blown away by the generosity. The winner of this lot will receive tickets to the Grand Tasting and Gala Dinner of the Rieslingfeier of their choice (there is no expiration date). They will be seated at the table of their choosing, with the winemaker of their choosing, and will be able to select the other guests at their table if they'd like. An extra chair will be at your table: this chair will be for all attending winemakers to join you for a bit, to introduce themselves to the table and to pour for your table something they have selected. As with the previous offering, the more generous you are with your bidding, the more we will go above and beyond to think of every detail we can to indulge you.
Condition: The conditions here should be very fine indeed.
