Rieslingfeier Gala Dinner
Rieslingfeier returns Saturday, January 18th, 2025
Sky Loft | 50 Hudson Yard, 32nd Floor
New York, NY
The Rieslingfeier gala dinner is the cornerstone event of the Rieslingfeier program; this is without doubt the greatest Riesling “BYOB” dinner in the world.
The eighth annual Rieslingfeier gala dinner will bring together winemakers from many of the greatest estates in Germany and Austria. Each estate will be bringing selected bottles from their cellars to share. Guests are invited to do the same. A seated, five-course menu designed by Andrew Carmellini and his NoHo Hospitality Group will highlight dry to off-dry styles of Riesling. The Gala dinner costs $500 excluding NY state sales tax.
We are thrilled to welcome Leo Alzinger, Frank Schönleber (Emrich-Schönleber), Julian and Nadine Haart, Lukas Hammelmann, Franz and Theresa Hirtzberger, Mathieu Kauffmann (Karthäuserhof), Klaus Peter and Julia Keller, Dominik Sona (Koehler-Ruprecht), Florian Lauer, Christopher Loewen, Veronika Lintner (Egon Müller), Lucas and Johanna Pichler (F.X. Pichler), Katharina Prüm, Hans and Valentin Rebholz, and Thomas and Lara Haag (Schloss Lieser).
The one and only Jin Ahn of Manhattan’s Noreetuh will be the 2025 Rieslingfeier’s Chef Sommelier. Expect a team of sommeliers from around the U.S. for top-level wine service.

Rieslingfeier Gränd Tasting
Rieslingfeier returns Saturday, January 18th, 2025
The Fifth Avenue Hotel | 1 West 28th Street
New York, NY
All the Rieslingfeier growers will be in attendance for this walk-around tasting. The event will largely focus on wines from the 2023 vintage, though back-vintage bottlings may be shown for context.
The two VIP sessions will be more limited in attendance, allowing guests a chance to interact with the growers on a more intimate level. For both of the VIP sessions the growers will also bring an additional special bottle to pour. All Rieslingfeier growers will be in attendance for all sessions.
Please note that we will be limiting each session to keep the tasting as organized as possible. We kindly ask all guests to show up on time and to leave once they are done tasting to make room for the following session(s). We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Also note that once you purchase your ticket(s), you will receive an email confirmation from PayPal. THIS PAYPAL CONFIRMATION WILL SERVE AS YOUR RECEIPT. No further action is required! You do not need to print this receipt out to be admitted. We will send out a reminder email approximately one week before the tasting.

Most frequently asked Rieslingfeier Gala Dinner questions:
Am I expected to bring a bottle of wine?
Yes – all guests are expected to bring at least one bottle of wine (German, Alsatian, Austrian – it does not have to be a Riesling). While there is no minimum price per bottle, the idea is to be as generous as possible and to bring older and/or large-format bottles. Do not be too stressed about this; if you have any questions just email us at info at rieslingfeier dot com.
How many bottles should I bring?
While guests are expected to bring at least one bottle per person, there is no limit as to how many bottles you may bring. That said, there is normally more than enough wine. Our general advice would be think quality over quantity.
What happens to my wine when I get there? Do I have to chill it?
After you check in, you will go to your assigned table. There a sommelier will take your wine, put a sticker on it with your name and your table name, asked when and how you would like it to be served and it will be taken to be chilled before the dinner. Obviously if you can have the wine pre-chilled, this would be wonderful.
Do I bring dry Riesling or sweet Riesling?
Chef Andrew Carmellini will create a customized five-course menu, the architecture and progression of which will be designed to pair with dry Rieslings and through the Prädikat scale (Kabinett, Spätlese, Auslese) to the great dessert bottlings (BA, TBA and Eiswein). Guests are encouraged to plan for this progression accordingly. (After all, if you’re opening that 1921 TBA while everyone else is drinking Kabinett Trocken, there will be some serious palate-distortion going on.)
How will seating work? Can I sit with my friends?
Each winemaker will be seated at a table with ten seats. Keep in mind that there will be plenty of time between courses to converse and move around the room. When you are purchasing your tickets, please let us know who else is in your party and we will try to sit parties together. While tables will be assigned, guests will be able to organize the seating at their tables as they like. While we will do our best, we cannot guarantee that all seating requests will be honored.
Please note: Exact table seating can change up to the last moment, so we cannot confirm seating or provide seating information before the gala. Thank you for your understanding!
What is the attire?
This is a formal, five-course meal in Manhattan with exceptional growers who have traveled a great distance to share cellar treasures with us all – please dress accordingly.
