Rieslingfeier will hopefully return to New York in the spring/summer of 2023.
7th Annual Rieslingfeier Gala Dinner
Rieslingfeier will return Winter 2021 – details below from the 2019 event
Reynard | Wythe Hotel
80 Wythe Avenue, Brooklyn, NY
The Rieslingfeier gala dinner is the cornerstone event of the Rieslingfeier program; this is without doubt the greatest Riesling “BYOB” dinner in the world.
The seventh annual Rieslingfeier gala dinner will bring together winemakers from many of the greatest estates in Germany and Austria. Each estate will be bringing selected bottles from their cellars to share. We are proud to announce the lineup for the 2019 Rieslingfeier events: Alzinger, Beurer, Dönnhoff, Eva Fricke, Gunderloch, Julian Haart, Hirtzberger, Jurtschitsch, Keller, Egon Müller, Nikolaihof, Selbach-Oster, Spreitzer and Von Winning.
As all the growers will be bringing special bottles from their cellars, it’s only fair that we shall be expected to reciprocate as generously as possible from our own cellars. Reynard’s Chef Charlene Santiago will create a five-course meal designed to pair with the Rieslings you bring, from dry to sweet. Wine service will be presided over by a group of the country’s top sommeliers. Please note that all the sommeliers are generously donating their time and expertise – please share your wine with them and support them at their respective restaurants!

Most frequently asked Rieslingfeier Gala Dinner questions
Am I expected to bring a bottle of wine?
Yes – all guests are expected to bring at least one bottle of wine (German, Alsatian, Austrian – it does not have to be a Riesling). While there is no minimum price per bottle, the idea is to be as generous as possible and to bring older and/or large-format bottles.
How many bottles should I bring?
While guests are expected to bring at least one bottle per person, there is no limit as to how many bottles you may bring.
What happens to my wine when I get there? Do I have to chill it?
After you check in, you should go to the wine check-in table. There a sommelier will take your wine, put a sticker on it with your name and your table name, and it will be taken to be chilled before the dinner. Once the event starts, you will be asked how and when you would like your wine served.
Do I bring dry Riesling or sweet Riesling?
Reynard Chef Christina Lecki will create a customized five-course menu, the architecture and progression of which will be designed to pair with dry Rieslings and through the Prädikat scale (Kabinett, Spätlese, Auslese) to the great dessert bottlings (BA, TBA and Eiswein). Guests are encouraged to plan for this progression accordingly. (After all, if you’re opening that 1921 TBA while everyone else is drinking Kabinett Trocken, there will be some serious palate-distortion going on.)
How will seating work? Can I sit with my friends?
Each winemaker will be seated with roughly nine guests. Keep in mind that there will be plenty of time between courses to converse and move around the room. When you are purchasing your tickets, please let us know who else is in your party and we will try to sit parties together. While tables will be assigned, guests will be able to organize the seating at their tables as they like. While we will do our best, we cannot guarantee that all seating requests will be honored.
Please note: Exact table seating can change up to the last moment, so we cannot confirm seating or provide seating information before the gala. Thank you for your understanding!
What is the attire?
This is a formal, five-course meal in one of Brooklyn’s liveliest restaurants with exceptional growers who have traveled a great distance to share cellar treasures with us all – please dress accordingly.
What if I buy tickets but then can’t make it? Are tickets refundable?
We are sorry but tickets are not refundable – so please make sure you are able to come before purchasing tickets (measure twice, cut once).
Refund Policy
We are sorry but tickets are not refundable for any reason. Rieslingsfeier LLC cannot be held responsible for changes of plan, delays or cancellations due to scheduling, inclement weather or anything else beyond our control.
The Gränd Tasting
Rieslingfeier will return Winter 2021 – details below from the 2019 event
Craft Restaurant
43 East 19th Street, New York, NY
All the Rieslingfeier growers will be in attendance for this walk-around tasting. The event will largely focus on wines from the 2017 vintage, though back-vintage bottlings may be shown for context.
The VIP hour will allow guests a chance to interact with the growers on a more intimate level and taste special limited bottlings brought directly from the growers’ cellars.
To keep the tasting as organized as possible, please decide which session you would like to attend and purchase that ticket!
Please note: To make sure the tasting experience is as organized as possible, we will be capping each session and we kindly ask guests to show up as their session begins and to leave once they are done tasting to make room for the later sessions. We thank you in advance for your cooperation!
Once you purchase your ticket(s), you should receive an email confirmation from PayPal. THIS PAYPAL CONFIRMATION WILL SERVE AS YOUR RECEIPT. No further action is required! You do not need to print this receipt out to be admitted.
